Luck takes a lot of work

Here at Rooted Web, we’re suckers for a good quote. There is one from the Roman philosopher Seneca the Younger that has been tossed around for centuries but is a true gem even today: Luck is the point where preparation meets opportunity. The genius behind this particular aphorism is that, while brief, it is comprehensive. There’s a lot to unpack as the adage can apply to a broad spectrum of personal and professional ideas. For this article, we’re going to consider it through the lens of your business and its digital solutions including web design.

If we’re going to equate luck with success, then it is the solution to this equation. What we want to consider are the two variables that, when united, result in that solution. Those variables, preparation and opportunity, are what we at Rooted Web help clients identify and maximize.

PREPARATION

The best time to prepare is yesterday. The second-best time is now. This holds true in developing your organization’s web presence as well as it does anywhere else. We urge our clients to be proactive and responsive throughout the process of web design. In the world of digital marketing, SEO and web solutions, time is certainly valuable. Every day delayed by inaction or ill-preparation is another day your competitors have to improve their advantage. Website preparation means having a web presence that is agile and effective, ready to respond to market changes and demands. We help clients by ensuring they have access to the right systems and software; and we ensure websites have proper integrations. We want to construct a web design that is stylish and effective.

OPPORTUNITY

Prepared clients are in the best position to recognize and maximize opportunity. Opportunity can appear in a myriad of ways, from external changes in political or economic policy to internal adjustments within your own organization that allows you to widen your niche or extend into other areas of specialization. Regardless of how opportunity appears, the quickest way to address it is through your digital solutions. If you have an outdated web presence that is difficult to adjust and is managed by a company too cumbersome to react appropriately, it is likely opportunity will pass you by because of a lack of preparation.

It doesn’t matter if you’re the Oracle of Omaha or the Wizard of Oz, no one can truly predict when and how opportunities might present themselves, but if you have put in place the proper measures to react quickly and effectively, you greatly enhance your ability to leverage each opportunity as it arises. Rooted Web has experience helping businesses prepare their digital ecosystems for optimal effectiveness, and, when opportunities have presented themselves, we’ve been there for our clients, helping them grow and succeed by staying ahead of the curve and competitors.
